API Agreement
By using the Read It Later API, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
User Privacy
You are not allowed to store the contents of a user's reading list without explicit permission from the user. If you store the content, you must provide a clear privacy policy to inform the user how their data will be used and you must provide the user with a way to remove the stored data. You may not republish any user's list (even anonymously) without permission from the user.
Branding
Your application's name cannot have 'Read It Later' or 'Read Later' as a part of it's name. It must be clear to users that your application is provided by you/your company and not Read It Later. (Read more)
Commercial Use
The API can be used by both free and commerical apps. However, you will need a commerical license if all of the following apply: ( Read more )
- Your app is a commerical app
- and your app retrieves a users reading list (apps that only save pages do not apply)
- and your application needs more than the provided 1000 calls/hr rate limit
Platform Limits
You can build apps for any platform, however, there are two small exceptions for iPhone and Firefox apps. (Read more)
Idemnity
Licensee agrees that Read It Later shall have no liability whatsoever for any use Licensee makes of the APIs. Licensee shall indemnify and hold harmless Read It Later from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Licensee's use of the APIs.
Changes
Read It Later may make changes to this agreement at any time without notice.
